Linking targets in iAlign is a great way to explicitly make the connection between targets that contribute to one-another!
One of the advantages of iAlign is that we have different target types, which can be strategically set up to show how your work contributes to other initiatives and projects via “target linking”
For a refresher on target types, check our this Helpkit article
How to Link Targets
Looking to link your targets? It’s easy!
- Simply find the blue “Create” button (or if you’ve created the target already, hit “Edit”) your target as you would with any other target.
- Fill in the top information (aka cover photo, target type, title and description, dates) as you normally would
- And for the very last field on the Details section, click into the search bar for “Link Target”
- Search or scroll the pop up list that shows all targets you’re on to find the target you’d like to link to the one you’re making (aka your current Department target)
- Select the target by clicking the left square checkbox and click out of the search - you’ll see confirmation that the target(s) was linked when it appears as a “tile” added below the search bar
- And then just finish your target information as normal and publish!
Linking targets is really as easy as that! You can always see a reminder of which targets are linked from the target details by going to a target’s details page and clicking “Linked Targets” from the middle of the tab on the right.
