What is a Performance Review?

How to get the most out of those important, more formal performance conversations!

Welcome to the Performance Review feature! This is a great tool to help you have a productive and positive conversation with your manager about your goals and professional progress. With the Performance Review feature, you can select the targets you want to discuss with your manager, add notes before and after the meeting, and keep track of your accomplishments.

What You Need to Know

The Performance Review feature has several main benefits:

  • It helps you have a focused and collaborative performance discussion
  • It captures your performance metrics, including both qualitative and quantitative data
  • It allows you to highlight moments of significance and accomplishments
  • It helps you prepare for the meeting and capture action items after the meeting

How to Use the Performance Review Feature

Here's how to use the Performance Review feature:

Step 1: Select Your Targets First, choose the targets you want to discuss with your manager. Be intentional to select targets related to your work performance such as completing a project, developing a new skill, or meeting a sales quota. This feature allows you to focus on the conversation on things you’ve learned throughout the year and highlight the ways you’ve contributed your team and the organization.

Step 2: Add Pre-Meeting Notes Next, add any notes you want to share with your manager before the meeting. These can include updates on your progress towards your goals, any challenges you've faced, or questions you have for your manager. This feature helps you organize your thoughts and ensures that you cover everything you want to discuss with your manager.

Step 3: Capture Post-Meeting Action Items After the meeting, you can capture any action items that were discussed. This feature allows you to record any decisions or next steps that were made during the meeting. This is a great way to keep track of your progress towards your goals and ensure that you are following up on any commitments made during the conversation.

💡
Pro tip - Performance Reviews are designed so that either the employee or the manager can initiate them. Because of this, during the creation process the person who starts the process can indicate who’s performance is being reviewed and the second person can also ADD additional targets they may also want to include in the discussion.

Tips for Success

Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of the Performance Review feature:
